Dr. G. Robert Weedon - Practice Owner
Dr. G.R. Weedon is a 1981 graduate of Purdue University College of
Veterinary Medicine. His interests are general and orthopedic surgery,
and clinical pathology. He is an Adjunct Professor of Honors and
Biology at UNC-Wilmington, where he has been teaching for 6 years and
is the co-author of an article published in the journal Animal Law in
2004. In 2005, he received his Masters in Public Health from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Phillip Lanzi - Practice Owner
Dr. Lanzi attended the University of Maryland and received his
veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 1987. Dr. Lanzi is
a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and he is the
current president of the Wilmington Animal Emergency Clinic. His
interests include clinical medicine and surgery with a special interest
in laser surgery and small animal ear disease. When not working he
enjoys all water sports, snow skiing, golf and time with his family. He
has a golden retriever named Chance, a Jack Russell Terrier named
Spencer and 2 cats, LuLu and Frankie.

Dr. Sami Winter
Dr.
Sami Winter obtained her Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology
from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then attended
North Carolina State University where she obtained her Doctor of
Veterinary medicine in 1993. Her chief interest is in general medicine,
primarily pediatrics. She enjoys educating people and often volunteers
her time at elementary and high schools presenting topics on animal
care. She also owns Just Duet Studio where she teaches jazz, ballet and
tap to over 200 students. She and her husband, Dr. Weedon, have 4 dogs,
Emmitt, Troy, Dallas, and Charlie, also known as Chuckles. They also
share their home with 12 kitties.

Dr. Ked Cottrell
Dr. Ked Cottrell attended Ball State University where he received a
degree in marketing in 1983. He worked in private aviation in Santa
Monica, California for 11 years before returning to school for
Veterinary medicine. He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at
Purdue University in 2002. His interests are general surgery,
dermatology and internal medicine and he currently alternates his time
between of both of our veterinary offices. He and his wife, Julie,
moved to Wilmington in 2002 and have a son, Travis. They share their
home with Gus, a fat yellow Lab and a kitty named Pirate.

Dr. Kathrine Wagner
Dr.
Katie Wagner started at College Road Animal Hospital as a technician in
1999 after graduating from St. Mary's of Notre Dame with her Bachelor
of Science Degree. After working as a veterinary assistant for a year
at College Road Animal Hospital, she went on to Purdue University where
she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She relocated
to Wilmington in May 2004 and began work at College Road Animal
Hospital as an associate veterinarian. Her interests include soft
tissue surgery, orthopedics and behavioral medicine. She resides in
Wilmington with her beautiful boxer, Kelani.

Dr. Adam Hurlbut
Dr. Adam Hurlbut attended the University of Minnesota in
Minneapolis/St. Paul for both his undergraduate and veterinary degree.
He graduated in 2002 and then spent several years practicing in New
York. He and his wife decided that the city and the cold were not for
them, and relocated to Wilmington in early 2004. Dr. Adam's interests
include avian and exotic animal medicine, as well as small animal
internal medicine. When he's not working he enjoys surfing,
snowboarding, and exploring his new hometown. Dr. Adam and his wife
share their home with their dog Nora, a Shih-Tzu Maltese cross, and
their parrot, Gnocchi, a Vosmaeri Eclectus Parrot. |

Dr. Christine Carmine
Dr.
Christine Carmine received her Bachelor of Science from the University of New Hampshire
in 2000 and her veterinary degree from the Atlantic
Veterinary College
in Prince Edward Island, Canada in 2005. She received the
AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) senior student award for her skills
in small animal medicine during her final year of veterinary school. Dr.
Christine's younger years were spent moving frequently and she has lived in 6
states and 4 different countries, including 8 years in Switzerland
where she completed her middle school and high school degrees. She speaks
fluent German and Swiss-German. Her special areas of interest include
dermatology and internal medicine. She and her husband Jay share their home with
2 cats, Izzy and Scamp, and a terrier-mix named Miles. In her free time she
enjoys doing triathlons, reading and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Debra L. Donovan
Dr. Deb Donovan attended Oakland University (Rochester, Michigan) and
received her B.S. in Biochemistry in 1991. She spent 8 years as
Regulatory/Safety Coordinator for a Tier II automotive supplier in
Michigan. She obtained her DVM from Michigan State University (GO
GREEN, GO WHITE!) in 2003 and moved with her husband Rob to Florida to
escape Michigan winters -- too cold! She and Rob moved from Ft.
Lauderdale (too hot) to Wilmington (just right) in 2006. They have lots
of 4-legged children: 5 dogs (Bungee, Copper, Ripley, Dollop, Radar); 2
indoor cats (Kahlua, Little One); 7-8 feral kitties that live in their
garage (Boo, Scrappy, Stimpy, Roxy, Cassie, Pouf, Bumble, and VanGogh).
Her areas of interest include dentistry, small animal internal
medicine, and collecting dogs with heart conditions. She enjoys
traveling, SCUBA diving, reading, horror movies and spending time with
her family -- both 2 and 4-legged. |
